1. Children of the Nations

The Children of the Dominican Republic

These are some of the beautiful children we met during our trip to the Dominican Republic in April of 2006. We were in the villages of Don Bosco and Algodon which are near the town of Barahona. We were working with the child advocacy organization called Children of the Nations which is headquartered in Silverdale, Washington. You can learn more about COTN at http://www.cotni.org. These children will steal your heart with their angelic faces and their lovely demeanour. They are beautiful in mind, body and soul in spite of facing almost unbearable poverty and devestatingly difficult circumstances.

  • This is Louisa. She held my hand and walked around with me all afternoon content just to be with us. She is one of the gentlest people I have ever met. She had a profound emotional impact on me even though we couldn't communicate very well with words.
